Comments Off on Sharad Purnima – A Magical Night

The full moon of the Ashwin Month is called Sharad Purnima. As per Astrology, this day, the moon is completely endowed with its Sixteen Arts. It is on this day that Lord Sri Krishna performed Rasa and that is why it is also called Rasa Purnima. A lot has been said about this day in Indian as well as other cultures. Goddess Lakshmi is also worshiped on this day. It is considered auspicious to recite Shrisukta or Lakshmi Strotram and perform Hawan in the moonlight.

It is due to the Dosha of the Moon, that Asthma is caused, therefore to keep healthy one must:

1. Bask in the moonlight for as long as possible
२. Wear scanty and light clothes while doing this
३. Sit in the open sky and watch the moon for at least 5-10 minutes without blinking. Do this for as long as possible. This also helps in improving eyesight.
4. To further improve eyesight, try threading a needle in the moonlight.

It is said that the Moon showers Amrita (life giving nectar) on Sharad Purnima. What is this Amrita after-all? It is the Aura of the Moon.

This is the day for the Human Body to receive Aura from the Moon. This has special significance in Ayurveda.

Make Kheer with rice or Red rice on Sharad Purnima evening. Remember NOT to add dry fruits. Dry fruits are heat producing in nature and can cause harm instead of benefit. Keep in an earthen, bronze, brass or glass platter and let it absorb the rays of the moon for at least 4-5 hours. After that, healthy and ailing people both, can consume this Kheer Prasadam.

Before eating the Kheer, make sure your Nabhi is balanced!. If your Nabhi is displaced then all your efforts will be in vain. To balance your Nabhi, order Naabhi Chakra Tablet now by clicking here.

For the treatment of asthma and allergies, a special medicine stemming from the Rishi-Muni tradition is sprinkled on the kheer and kept in moonlight. The kheer is consumed early in the morning after morning ablutions. After eating the kheer, there is a practice of walking as much as possible, for the medicine to be effective.
